I’m always on the hunt for quality Spanish Christian books for my family. Here are 3 suggestions I have from the company Editorial Mundo Hispano that are all worthy of a spot on your bookshelf.
Disclaimer: I received the first book for free from Editorial Mundo Hispano in exchange for an honest review. The bottom suggestions are included because we honestly enjoy them in my home and think you would too.
Buenas noches, Dios
Buenas Noches, Dios is an excellent choice to add to your toddler’s bookshelf to use for nighttime routine. This cushion covered board book is only in Spanish and is ideal for 2-4 year olds. It has a cute little handle on the edge to help your child carry it around as it’s just a bit thicker than a comfortable one-handed toddler grip.
What I love:
- The stories start with Adam and Eve and then build in chronological order even making connections from one character to another. For example, when introducing Joseph, the story explains that he was a great-great grandson of Abraham. I love these cool connections.
- The illustrations include dark skinned characters which I believe is more authentic.
- This 39 page book could be read from cover to cover, or, what we do is, read just one story that takes up a 4 page segment of the book before going to bed at night.
- The cover of this book glows in the dark which just adds an extra element of fun!
- Each story finishes with “Buenas noches, (bible character’s name) y buenas noches, Dios”. Outside of that fact, this book doesn’t have to be reserved only for nighttime nor does the story change at all to make it pertain to night time. Yet, this sweet book works well as most families find it easiest to incorporate the important task of reading aloud to their child before bedtime and what better than to read to them than God’s word and in Spanish.
- This book is great quality and for an affordable price. Get your copy from Editorial Mundo Hispano here.

Veo, Veo Series
I was first introduced to Editorial Mundo Hispano’s resources when I stumbled upon their Veo, Veo Series. My family enjoys this series as each board book is based on a Bible story in Spanish, and each page spread has an illustration where the child is to find objects within the illustration. Each of these objects is labeled in both Spanish and English.
My two-year old has been enjoying these books for over 6 months and is tackling these with ease now. We love reading these interactive stories over and over again. My only disappointment is that sometimes the objects are labeled in Spanish with words that I’ve never heard of, but that happens when different countries use different words for the same thing. So, I tend to just say the word I learned for that object. However, this didn’t stop me from purchasing all 7 in the series. Tip: The Navidad and Pascua ones make great holiday gifts to add to as an Advent gift or an Easter basket item. Grab any of the Veo, Veo books here.
Oraciones para mi pequeña niña
This sweet bilingual book is also one we’ve added to the stack of Spanish Christian books on my daughter’s nightstand that we choose from to read before bed. Each page spread includes a Bible verse in Spanish and then in English that can be used as a prayer with an illustration on the opposite page. The cover is a girly sparkly purple, and the illustrations often include a young light skinned girl. The verses are just short enough that my daughter will repeat them aloud in chunks. She’s already learning Bible memorization at 2 years old and in two languages. Now I wish I had that growing up! This would be a great gift as well for someone for a baptism or as a baby shower gift. You can find Oraciones para mi pequeña niña here.
